You've made a good job of it, certainly. Well done and everything, however, personally I would prefer something light, compact and sexy, especially if it requires to be transported about often eg. lan parties.

quakecon is just not long enough, the only lan parties i go to are basically hotel conference rooms booked out for the weekend. you can crash at one end of the room and lan in the other end. likw that you actually get to know the people you are playing against.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel extremely stupid after reading Zap's ideas?

I'm not creative enough to do cool things like this. I wish that I was. :(

Maybe I could just outsource my mods to ZapWizard and pay him royalties or something for actually doing them. hehe.

Hehe Zap, that ammo box is going to bring you a ton of new hardware if you keep lugging it to competitions.

I have been told a "hot wire" is needed to cut the foam properly.
I did a totaly hack-job with scissors just to make everything fit.
I will be buying more foam peices later for a more professional look.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could roll back the lid over the top and not at the side? Kind of looks in the way a bit to me?

    Just a thought :naughty:

It's actually very easy to make a hot wire cutter, you need a length of nickel-chromium wire, some way of holding it (a wood bracket with screws works well) and a 12 volt power supply of a respectable amperage (you can use a car battery, but you'd need some form of current limiting.) Most people use several headlights connected in series ;)

I would like if the lid rolled down so that I could use it to stand up the PC like a bench-top insturment.
I have tried to figure out several other ways of attaching the lid.
But all of them would require a lot of disctruction of the side hinge, ruining the overall look off the case.
Instead I am going to make a simple foldable stand I can put under the PC.

I'm looking at that case right now, and I think you could easily just drill the head off of the long screw, and tap it out. Then replace with another similar gage, but longer, bar with a head to grab on to.

Then you can drill a tiny hole on the tip end that sticks out, for attaching a small cotter pin. Very military-like.

That's what I plan on doing.

    Hey folks.

    I am NOT done yet!
I did about 6 more hours of more modding last night.
And I had a friend with a 6 mega pixel digital camera come over and take some SUPER detailed images.

So tonight I will have NEW stuff, and 1024x768 images of all kinds of stuff.
Plus I got a few movies, they may take some time to edit and re-compress though.

Also my PC was shot on X-Pkay on TechTV, while at QuakeCon 2003

Zap, I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but I was just watching X-Play on TechTV and da Lan PC was on. (You must know that they filmed it since it showed a quick thing of the beautiful Morgan Webb asking you about it).
