Dude that was some funny video!...Not in a bad way tho. Could have used a couple shots of tequila there!!

I hear you plan on competing in C3, so I guess I'll see you in Dallas. What mods are you bringing?

Have you added the throb circuit yet? Are you going to roll your own circuit, or use an existing board?

And what is next for this case? What more are you planning on doing?

Hey folks this computer is soon getting a very nice upgrade:

Currently the PC has a PowerColor ATI Radeon 9200.
This card is fast, but it is not DirectX 9, which of course will be needed most when Half-Life 2 is released (sometime)

So Power Color will be providing a new ATI Radeon 9600.
It is a very powerful graphics card considering that it's is a very small card also, perfect for modding projects.
You can see it here: http://www.power-color.com/r96le-c3.htm

Not only am I upgrading the graphics card, but the CPU, motherboard and a few other parts are getting an upgrade.

I have decided to put the RMA'ed Chaintech motherboard back in, as it has Dual DDR, and a better sound card that can drive the rear headphone output a lot louder.

I am also upgrading the CPU from a 2700+ to a XP 3200+
(Not a new CPU, but traded it with my main PC)

    So the new specs are:
    • AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 400Mhz FSB
    • Power Color r96le-c3 ATI Radeon 9600 DX9 low profile graphics card.
    • 512MB Corsair XMS CAS2 DDR 400Mhz (2x256 dual mode)
    • Chaintech nForce2 Ultra 400mhz mATX motherboard
    • Shuttle 200-watt PSU (Coming soon)
    • IBM laptop harddrive (Saving lots of space)
    • IBM laptop DVD Drive
    • More and more fans!

You can check out the other Power Color cards at:

Yo zap you consider submitting this to Max. PC's rig of the month contest? If they feature your machine in an issue you get $1,000 and a case of Bawls! :eeek:

I am not sure, it wasn't too loud in the first place.
    (I am soldering right now)

I submited it to the CompUSA contest, but not the rig of the month yet, I will get to it, thx :D

Yeah ZapWizard submit it to the Rig of The Month contest. That would so win and probably all the other contests they have. If it was premade it would get a 10 and a KickAss Award

I submited it two days ago, so it's a matter of time (what month) really when they choose to show it.

    -----------------------

If you are in Texas (or near it) I will be running a computer modding workshop at the Texas Gaming Festival
    www.TXGF.com

We plan on having 1000+ BYOC spots and a very low fee, so sign up and get ready to come.

ATI is a sponser, and the event will probably be coming up in mid-November

how hard would it be to replace the power button with a key switch (similar to the lock on the face plate) I am working on a similar, but much easier, mod inspired by this one, that uses an acrillic box instead.

Also, do have a list of parts used in the face plate, or a list of parts that u used im modding it? and about how much did this mod cost you? (Not counting upgrades for video card and motherboard...etc.)

one last question, what specific ammo case was it that you ordered? i went to the site, but couldnt find the case

one more question, where did you get the little sin wave player thing, i mean the actuall screen. i went on the website, but couldnt find the same version, and similar versions i could find i couldnt find out where to buy them.

[Edit}Also, what gague wire did you use for the modding?

The power button could be replaced with a momentary style keyswitch.

I don't have a list of parts that I used, most of them I already had in my electronics parts bin.
(you can see my keyswitch in this bin: http://www.zapwizard.com/Electronics/Big_parts.html)

Again, since most of the parts I already had, I am not sure the total cost of this mod. But I know I put in over $1000 in fresh money.

The ammo case is colemans part number 220301

The Sine wave player is a VFD, I got it off ebay months before I came up with this mod.

I used 18 or 22 gauge wire for most of this modification.

I hope to see you there Penguin4x4, and spread the word we need lots of people (expected cost is only $20)
