The Bios reset needs one of those momentary switches that has the "military red" saftey cover over it. (forces the switch off when it is closed, and the switch can only be activated when the cover is up). Of course the switch is going to be inside so it's kind of superfluous but it would still be cool.
Well zap, I'd like to be the first to congratulate you on appearing as Maximum PCs rig of the month! I Opened up my Maximum PC today only to find your awesome ammo case in the back as the rig of the month. Great job! And have fun with all of your prize!
Do you hear that soft voice like a whisper? It's my pillow calling.... (subtle Hint) Post a linky to the maggy... Post a linky to the maggy... Post a linky to the maggy... Post a linky to the maggy... Post a linky to the maggy... Post a linky to the maggy... Post a linky to the maggy... Post a linky to the maggy... (subtle hint fading out now (whispered more and more softly...)) ANd while you are at it.... post a photo or two about the latest updates....
lol funny you mentioned that here in belgium at our humble casemod forum (not worth to tell the site ) a guy also said he wanted a button for his bios reset. and someone also replyed, that he should take the military red switch hihi
Zap, at least you have a bios reset header. My Gigabyte GA-7VAXP doesn't even have the pins. There are solder pads and the box marked for the header, but no pins. I have to short it with a screwdriver.
That would be fine except the bios reset switch is inside the box. (You have to open the back door to get at it) So there is no need to theme it. I haven't even seen it yet, as I can't find the January issue at any stores yet. (I am already enjoying my case of Bawls though, thx MaxPC) Updates on the way, but holidays slow stuff down as always.
Thanks zap i orderd my catalog today and my box also comes in today in exactly 45min go UT!!!!!!!!!!!!! hook-um!
Great MOD! Zap, I know you have been told this many times but your LAN PC is a great MOD. I am retired from the US Army and I think it llooks way kewl. McBug
zap sorry if you have already said this but do you still have the DFX file of the print out and if so can you post it thanks UNO
If you look back, I didn't end up using a DXF file, I just printed a scale image that I overlaid over plexi then hand cut out. I don't think I will post a high-res version, as I don't want 100% copies to be built. ------- Thanks McBug
i understand compleetly thank you anyways also a suggestion have you thought about putting your speekers in a smaller ammo case and having 2 of them being wireless it could be cool thanks for the help UNO
There are no speakers for this project, just headphones. Also since it is military themed, the more cables the better. My next project will be almost the opposite, as wireless as possible.
any more hints on what it will be cant wait to see it, cause your stuff always looks pro as for the headphones, i know that their is nothing like something that you made yourself but i myself would have gone with some old military metal detector headphones also one more question why did you use a plexi glass front plate couldnt you have used aluminum? or thick sheet metal?......it is still frickin sweet but that was just a question UNO
I bought a sheet of alluminum to use for the front. But since the ammo case ended up being plastic I decided to make the faceplate match it, making the entire thing look integrated and designed that way. (Rather then a PC shoved into a box)
ahhhh.....i see that does make sense, also isnt aluminum a conductor........hmm that wouldnt turn out nice would it?i am not sure
I would like to give a big thanks to Bit-Tech for giving me the "Mod of the Year" http://www.bit-tech.net/feature/28/ I love you guys on Bit-Tech, you keep me my modding moral healthy. I nominate G-Gnome for next year, staff or not ---------------------------------- BTW the upgrade for this project is complete. (The PC is back inside it's box) I am currently dermeling the casing for the LCD. (1/16" thick steel too!)
