Looks like the Expected Zombie invasion all Bit-Tech members keep telling people about has finally started, looks like the first Zombie attacks are expected in Texas according to Hackers who changed the Texas road signs :)

I reckon it's a hilarious prank. After all they are just ASKING for that by having over-engineered led signs when a normal sign post would do just fine :)

My friend worked at traffic wales and we tried to convince him to do something similar. Apparently no-one could have known who did it.

The thing is not matter what it says, its still distracting drivers at the end of the day? Zombies or roadworks, you still need to read it.

    Ahahaha.

"THE HACKERS CUT THROUGH THE PADLOCK!"

People might not know where to go? Errr... Have any of them ever seen anyone actually trying to drive these days? They don't know where they're going in the best of circumstances. Pfft.

    Funny prank :D

It's a mobile sign that's put up around roadworks/temporary dangers, they're designed to be in-your-face to make sure people slow down. Interestingly, I actually met the guy who invented the technology for those signs...

There was a website telling you how to do this...and it looked identical in placement (ie the same sign on the same road) as the one in the news report, they mentioned while there is place for a padlock, there usually is none, why would they need to be? (or so they thought)

The article also stated most are secured with the same password, failing that a hard reset brings the password back to default, doesnt really sound a terribly hard hack now does it :(

    Still funny ass signs :p

Is a brilliant and very funny book, I have been meaning to buy world zero which is also by Max Brooks, for quite a while.

    Edit:

BTW isn't this a really old thread?

Poke a stick in almost any of the old threads and they become new. Might lose a pic or 20 but the words still work.

And besides - Old is NOT a 4 letter word
