Yeah its the same kit... it's just got new materials so you don't end up chaffing your balls together... I never had much of an issue as I always lived in my motorbike lethers lol. NBC got replaced in 2004 to CBRN to combat terrorism or something equally deranged from the MOD.

Yeah the boots suck, but to be fair in zombie apoc you wouldn't need to worry as the infection isn't really airborne is it?

Unless, of course, the zombie invasion doesn't happen until you're old and wrinkled... ;)

I live not too far away from this place and my friend has a farm near by. Looks like an excellent zombie hideout. :thumb:

Give me one of these anyday! Totally sealed and can drive through anything. Nice and safe.

And will draw zombies for miles around. And run out of diesel in no time. Enjoy fighting your way out of a swarm of zombies without any fuel and useless weaponry.

Me, I'm going with a small capacity bike with fuel cans instead of panniers and heading for the hills.

It's a sealed unit... Rip the 120mm shells right out of it, gives you a nice (huge) storage space. The engine could be run incredibly efficantly. Zombies can't exactly stop the machine once it's going at 10-15mph... either way, it's a temporary measure until more a more suitable area could be located.

Fair enough, plus you could get the fuel and rounds as you go. There should be some anyway since where else would you find a tank? Your local pet store? XD

You'd probably find them at Military checkpoints if they did use them... plus the nice 50. on top of the Chally wil do quite nicely. Undead or not the power of that weapon will put them down on their arse either way... so if I do get stuck, im going out the right way.

With the added advantage that it'll run on anything that's vaguely flammable.

It's a tank, of course... not advised though.

No, not advised, but useful when your only source of power is fermented zombie brains...

No guns available where I am (unless you count 12 bores - shedloads of them), grab the axes (a skull is easier to go through than a log. Should do) and camping kit then head for the fens. Pray to $diety that the fenfolk brains getting eaten decreases the average zombie IQ and live off the land. Camping kit includes bivvy bag, tools and dried or tinned food for a week. After that I'm screwed.

Should I be in town at the time the zombie apocalypse occurs then I'd raid the local gun shop and take all the bows and crossbows that the locals left behind (hint - the only thing most of them know how to shoot is a shotgun) as well as a halfway decent air rifle and lots of ammo for it - got to eat, rabbits and pigeons are easy to hunt with a quiet, low powered weapon. Pistols and rifles are out, they need non re-usable ammo.

Then again, hollow point air rifle rounds filled with a mix of potassium permanganate and glycerine can give an extra kick and, with a little effort, you can convert a .22" wadcutter target pellet in to a shaped charge explosive round (just be really careful when layering the mix. Air bubbles = boom in barrel = not good!) Raid the chemist too for a touch more than pills.

Bows and crossbows would probably require broadhead ammo in preference to the target variety but it only requires basic mechanical skills, a sheet of mild steel and a pair of metal shears to amend that discrepancy (available at all local blacksmiths or your shed if appropriately equipped). It won't be perfect but it'll be better for scrambling brains than target arrows or bolts and still be reusable. No, it's not for everyone as most people couldn't hit a target with a bow if you were going to kill their mother should they miss. I can hit 1 in 3 with an arrow to the head area of a target, with a crossbow it's more like "Which eye don't you need?"

Access to a fortified position, basic electronics components and a source of power that isn't reliant on fossil fuels? Railgun, no question. I have, in the past, worked out the details required for a multi coil, mechanically timed railgun. Tested it too - fun! Give me ferrous ammo (4" to 6" nails will do), wood, PVC/PU pipe, copper wire, a couple of springs, a car battery and I'll give you stopping power! It doesn't have to be a supersonic round, it just needs to have enough kinetic energy and length to tumble after impact. A 4" round wire nail moving at 450+ MPH is going to sting like a bitch and tumble after impact, thus scrambling zombie brains rather effectively without the noise to give your position away. You would have to lead each shot like buggery and aim well but a headshot would definitely be a kill.

Have I thought about the zombie apocalypse? Maybe a touch :D

Grab my land cruiser, grab a couple barrels of farm diesel, got 1.5 barrel in the shed so ~2500 km before i run out of diesel. Ofcourse my milage will vary depending on how many zombies i have to run over, but i'm pretty sure i could get anywhere in europe without much trouble.
But where to go, i'll probably head of to germany, maybe the Alps. The lower population would means less chance of people being infected, and generally less zombies.
It would be nice to get my hand on a fire arm. maybe a standard police gun, to make it easier to find bullets. I never fired a gun so i'm probably need lots of them just to stop one zombie.

This ofcourse means i'm not one of the first to be infected, and with my luck i seriously doubt that.
