I'm getting a LCD with the classic Hitachi controller to plug it to the parallel port.
I have my 7 segment display plugged to my parallel port right now and I would like to use both displays at the same time, the LCD and 7SD.
I've seen some USB to Parallel Port converters, but I have no idea how they work and if I'm going to be able to either plug the LCD or the 7SD to it.

Can anybody tell me if this works?
Otherwise I'll have to get a PCI card with a LPT. :)

    Yes it should work.

But you might find it un-nesicerry.

Depending on the software you use of course.

But you could have a latch, on one of the control pins, that determines if you are talking to the 7seg display, or the LCD.

I think that wouldn't be easy.
And I don't know anything about programming. :)
