Thanks! @DESTroyed22 - I have a habit of hitting things with a hammer until they work, so eventually this stuff should get finished. (The rotary table is officially on back order, BTW. -BIG delay from HF again.) @Brett89 - By that I assume you mean crazy?
Thanks, me too. I don't know what it is about spring, but I always get stuck waiting for the postman.
Spring here is waiting on the snowplow - 12 to 16 snow inches by 5 PM tomorrow. Probably stay home and mod. John
Still stuck, I started working on HypnoToad again to stay sane. I'm waiting on an order of solder for the aluminum res and the rotary table for the gear res. @Jhanlon - Ahh, yes. I guess I could have it worse. I remember the kids in my school had to play soccer around a 8 foot snowball made during the winter.
well tell the shipping company to hurr up you dont have all year hehehe. anyways its looking real good for the progress so far. I should think aboot doing a mod and see if I can get it as good as you. lol *thinks to self *saws scare me and is always accident prone* will maybe concider someone helping me*
Being scared of a saw is a good thing. I makes you cautious. I'm still wary of my table saw, and for good reason.
dang those texans lol jk im sure he would ship it to u for the right price........ depending on he shipping costs lol
Don't hate the big pond. It keeps Mexicans from swimming to Scotland. Even they think it's getting crowded here, and the smart ones are going straight to Canada these days.
Today, Harbor Freight officially bent me over... I got a refund from Harbor Freight for the cost of the rotary table. Since they were kind enough to ship the other ($4) item I purchased, They pocketed my $10 shipping charges. There was also no free $10 gift card shipped, (-My first indication they were NOT going to honor the sale.) They claim the Items are now discontinued. What do you want to bet they show back up on the site when the prices in the catalog I had expire. I'm so p*ssed right now I've been shopping all day for REAL rotary tables, I will spend my money elsewhere. That's 3 strikes on a single purchase. They wasted my time, my gas, and my money.
On this one I can feel your pain. Harbor Freight is 8 blocks from my house. Better to drive somewhere else! Our HF is a flea market that happens to be inside. The only thing I have from them lately is a couple new pairs of safety goggles. Not quality stuff - except for the ONE good heat gun that I happened to by several years ago. John
Look at MSC for a rotary table. I've gotten lots of stuff from them and it's not bad for the money. They used to have a B&M outlet here in Denver (conveniently, right next door to a strip club...) but shut it down a few years ago.
Thanks guys. @John - I've seen the same heat gun they sell at an autoparts store too. @Clocker - Nice link, but I'm looking into another shop right now. (no pics of the low-end tables anyway) Do you think they closed down because they didn't hose the parking lot down often enough?
I stopped in at Harbor Freight today. Picked up a $9.99 heat gun, some tin snips and some clamps. Ended up spending less than $20, which is a big plus right there. Kind of a pain to find things if you're not familiar with how they arrange their merchandise, however.
Cheapstake, u surelly have some real good skills and imagination! You surelly will be featuring at least MotM soon! All of your worklogs are well written and always have something nice in each update. Good job on those, and this will be for sure one nice referral for many modders! cheers mate
