not bad for the money =] I'd still go with a 7970 overclocked for 50 bucks more.. the 680 is way overpriced as usual!

I'm stuck between an Asus 7970 top (factory oc to 1GHz) or an Asus 670. Both DirectCu, though the 670 is smaller. Not much between them at current prices (£370ish for the nvidia, £400ish for the AMD).

I say, bring back white motherboards! Sapphire did it, not sure why no one else did.

Apparently clear PCBs are even possible to manufacture, even though all you'd be seeing is copper I guess. Would still be an improvement over brown.

This discussion made me think of this legendary thread  It's a shame that the good pictures don't work anymore

Oh dear god! i've got a striker II and one of the best things about this board is all the voltage LEDs on it. That is an absolute travesty!

Me to! Reference GTX 680 with the complete Phases surrounding a GTX 670 GPU is too good to pass up.

If I'm impressed by it then I'll try and hold out on SLI until the prices drop off a little... if I can that is! :D

I'm supposed to have it by Wednesday! Would it in any way be bottlenecked by a 2500k @ stock when playing at 5120x1200? Because then I would need to overclock my CPU

A 2500K has some ways to go before it gets bottlenecked!

Also looks like my Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 3X order has fouled up some how. I pre-ordered, stock became available for general sale today yet my order remains unfulfilled. Looks like a little bit of a fail for ebuyer in this case. I forgive them all the same! :thumb:

I will only by one when they'll release a short PCB one. Id-est one with a cooler that doesn't increase the card size (to match the length of a miniITX motherboard).

I'm curious if EK will come up with a dinky GTX 670 water block. The shortened PCB seems to have caught them by surprise. I don't like the fact half the memory is likely to be exposed round the back. A simple backplate is a little cheap and nasty if cooling the card fully is your desire. That said, it'll leave a nice lot of room in your case to accommodate bulky water cooling gear!

I've been thinking that. It'd be nice if they came up with a tiny-version, simply because it'd be so much lighter and, in theory, cheaper. Simply because there'd be so much less of it.

    Question is; Will it happen?

Looks like EK are going to have four new blocks out in Early June, after that; we may see 670-short edition blocks.

Nuts to it. Just Emailed EK, asking if they were ever planning to make the blocks for the short-PCB 670s.

Well done! If they did I could go the route of water cooling a couple in my Fractal R3, although I'd have to get creative with the placement of radiators if I want to maintain silent running.

Oooh. Colour me interested. I'll still see if I can't get a reply off EK anyhow, might give us a timeframe as to when the blocks will be built.

:duh: Sorry bloggins. Somehow didn't see that bit right at the top that says 'Coming Soon' and that you'd pointed out as much in your post. Not at all obvious....:worried:
