Is anyone overseas interested in STO? I haven't seen much on here about it or maybe I missed it. The Open Beta for preorders starts tomorrow and the game releases next month on 2/2 US & 2/5 UK.

For you EVE fans, you'll find space questing & fighting to be very similiar.

Look as interesting as any other MMO. The proof is in the pudding, as the pie lady used to say.

Owwwwwwwww, I was just gonna start this thread ;)

Seriously though, I got my open beta key earlier and am hoping the client finishes downloading before 6pm tomorrow.

I've never done an MMO before (bar a few hours on Guild Wars) and I'm looking forward to tooling round the galaxy firing photon torpedos into alien's faces

I rather enjoyed the beta, and look forward to the open beta and the release.

I am a little miffed that the Prometheus cannot do multi vector assault mode.

That would be cool, but how would they setup up the controls. AI takes over a section?

Specify an attack pattern and the AI takes over the other section I suppose... You could just have it split in two and control both in tandem (same movements).

Loving the game so far, was a bit laggy at first from everyone raping the servers, but it's stable now.

Got my beta key, downloading the client now. I kind of like how some MMOs are letting you do lifetime subs now but I'd rather they not do it only as a pre-order thing

Been playing it for a couple of days now and part of me can see there is a good game in there but some of the control decisions and UI design (both things that such a timesink game as an MMO needs to get right) are just not clicking with me at all, especially the awful control system for ground combat, which was the one element I thought Cryptic would knock out of the park.

I'll give it another go in 6-9 months because I do believe there might be something worthwhile in there.

Been looking at stuff on the web site, looks so cool, sort of like a Star Trek version of Pirates of the Burning Sea
