Linux Minecraft; Official Bit-tech server

Well, Forge has been updated (to 1.7.2, which is close enough to login), and VoxelMap has been ported to 1.7, so if you need something to navigate by, that works. It's a shame there's no NEI yet, though.

On another note, I've just cleaned out 3 double-chests of enderpearls from the XP farm at the end, and now things are no longer backed all the way up, and are flowing again. I noticed in the update you made to the farm, the "drop into the void" circuit at the end of the hopper chain was removed. Would you like this reinstated, so it can deal with removing these excess pearls and ensuring it doesn't get all backed up again?

And yes, I am playing on the server again. Kinda reached end-tier on FTBT with no-one else joining, ever (which is a little disappointing).

 

Yeah, you could put another of those circuits in again. There should be stuff in the chests there. Hope you don't mind the changes I made.

Another thing that might be quite good would be to put blocks on top of the ceiling and move the water sources up by 1 block so water doesn't always drip everywhere.

 

I don't mind at all, it looks excellent, and works just fine. Void Dropper is now in place and working, so the system should be keeping itself nice and clear at all times.

Well, the dripping is only cosmetic, but I'm sure that can be arranged. I'm not going to do it, though - I hate void!

I didn't see anyone on the server yesterday - anyone else tried it and discovered the April fools-prank?

 

I was, and I did. It was highly amusing.

Also, as an aside, if anyone wants DynMap back, but doesn't want to deal with it's potential server-killing issues, you can log in to the server with 1.7.2, which means you can load forge, and thus run JourneyMap. This mod not only supplies a minimap in-game, but keeps the explored data between sessions, remembering where you've been, and also uses the Google Maps API and a local webserver to give you an in-browser GUI, just like Dynmap.

I also find CraftGuide, Inventory Tweaks and Zyin's HUD helpful too.

 

Is it just me, or did the server die?

Looks like the server is running an older version with the client side now upto 1.7.9

 

Maybe this isn't why you posted, but here's a tip:

You can choose version in the launcher.. ..look to the lower-left corner..

I see I have some work to do. Sorry for not keeping up. Other things (mainly DayZ) have been keeping me busy

Woohoo, we are live with version 1.7.9!!

As always a small status update:
- Update to latest dev build of bukkit v1.7.9-R0.1 (yes, I like living on the edge)
- Updated all major plugins (MultiWorld, LWC, etc.)
- DynMap is back! (new version of the plugin seems to be working, have it doing full renders to catch up so expect some minor lagg)

If you notice any issue please let me know, or if that fails MrsFio, JrrRr or #'s.
They have my email and can contact me directly when needed.

For sure, feel free. The hostname is right there.

You will be limited to 'world' and 'nether' though. Access to other worlds where the other players reside can be granted over time.

 

I can't connect; ping seems fine on server list, but keep timing out on join.

Hey all, sorry for the delayed reaction. Was gone this weekend. Thankfully got an email from MrsFio!

It seems DynMap was acting up again. Restarted the server because memory and CPU usage was pretty high. Could do a gracefull shutdown so, did not loose any changes thankfully

I could login again so I think it's good to go. I'll check if there is an update for dynmap tomorrow. I'm off to bed soon

Slightly off topic, but still in the minecraft alley:
Our two "big" kids played mc with monsters for the first time today.. it was fun to see almost the same reaction in them as how I reacted when I first played on XM's server.
