If this is true its clever from IW. They get out of the MW IP before it gets stale and people start complaining, though its a sure seller, so equally wouldn't they want the money?...

I imagine their cheques are paid by Activision, not directly from games sales. It's probably a move by Activision: MW3 will sell bucket loads, as will the "next Infitity Ward game: from the makers of Modern Warfare!". So they get to double up on hype potential.

They've also let Treyarch fail at life with CoD3 and CoD:WaW, so it's nothing new Activision lets them screw up every other CoD that comes out. Don't really know the reasoning behind this, but doesn't bother me either... Besides, the series died with IWnet, so not even really looking forward to the upcoming sequels.

To be honest I don't think Modern Warfare 2 is all that great a game. Yes it looks great and is good to play. But it isn't that far from the original, Modern Warfare and it does include some of the issues that 'World at War' contained, such as free sporning enemies and sections that are impossible to conquer unless you follow a set path, along with the fact that the game was just far too short. Even if there is the online play too, £50 or so is way too much for such a short game. I went back to 'Modern Warfare' time and time again and I just can't say that I am that interested to do the same with 'MW2'.

love the fact it won't be from Treyarch, CoD5 WaW was really bad much worse than CoD2 and too consoley.

I don't know one PC Gamer™ who thinks MW2 is a good game.
And the BT staff ate some tainted fruitcake the week they reviewed MW2 (the only explanation I can come up with guys, go find more AMD interviews!)

I hope people in the FPS genre learn from the cataclysmic and fatal errors of MW2. Dedicated servers are REQUIRED in 2010 and on, not an optional feature some pasty faced MBA can remove because it makes their "PC/Console development cycle more symmetric"!

Your right, I don't know one either, matter of fact I only know one PC gamer that bought it. We all played his copy and were glad we didn't buy it.

Infinity Ward spit in the faces of PC gamers so I can careless what they do or don't make because I won't buy Gimp Ward's products ever.

Call of Duty is like that 80 year old wrestler who keeps popping up for Pay Per View events. GIVE IT UP AND RETIRE your no longer fun and innovative but only an advertisement blitz that produced way more hype than gameplay.

Matter of fact I spent more time watching commercials than it took me to beat the single player cammpaign.

    PS. Dear Infinity Ward.

Screen name " Frosty Spill" wants his money back.

MW2 seemed to sell quite well on PC, and at the end of the day, it did seem to have a good single player experience. What i do know is that out of everyone i know in our clan, only 2 people have actually purchased it. This compared to MW1, when there about 10 of us who would just join an empty server and have a great evening of multiplayer action. Roll on Battlefield Bad Company 2...

IW are making a MMO online game. They are hiring the Everquest lead designer and Blizzard are helping them with the netcode.

And there is going to be a bonus for PC Gamers.... Mouse and Keyboard support!

I hate IW. Would not surprise me if this only comes out for the Xbox 360.

I would have thought it works similar to the music industry, they make the game, the publisher pays for it, and in return, the publisher takes most of the money, but IW would recieve some money based on sales.
