As long as you stick to the correct dosage then no, you can't tell that it's in.

You can basically use any copper based algaecide you find from your local pet store, just aim for around 1 ppm copper concentration in final solution, that'll be plenty to kill any unwanted organism and shouldn't cause any trouble with equipment.

I'm using this stuff with deoinized water, works like a charm.

Cool :) I've got a Silver Coil on order, but as Big Elf said, it may take time to kick in, so a dash of this will help :)

Using fish tank chemicals on our water loops?

I wonder how long before someone puts a warm water fish in a reservoir....

    :D

I had a look in Wilko today, but I couldn't see it, so I'll have another look :) Any other tips/advice?

I saw that, very expensive/weighty. I love the look of it though...

To my knowledge it is the best copper full cover for the 5870's.
Its none transferable to other card sof cause, but its deigned to fit that card and cool the ram etc it being a full cover block and all.
    Also, copper>nickel.
One could get the actel cover instead over the plexi, which I dont think has much if any noticable effect on the blocks cooling performance, with plexi being cheaper than actel.
If there is another copper full cover block that performs even better, then I would like to know. :)

The reason to get acetal cover over plexi one is that acrylic has a tendency to crack, whereas acetal can take much more beating.

I've seen my share of threads on other forums where an overly enthusiastic hobbyist has destroyed his block top by over-tightening the fittings.

Also, acrylic is very much allergic to alcohol, so care must be taken with premix cooling solutions.

I'm using Deionised water so no issues with acrylic reacting with it :) Thanks for the advice though :)
