they're like gold dust those units, I had to wait for nearly a month for scan to get them in. Worth the wait though. I blame blart and azh_fx; they got me onto the 690! :D

In the process of stripping the 690 II case right now. I actually like it with just the main chassis exposed!

It certainly opens up some options if you strip away the need for side, top and front panels.

690 II case stripped, I really like it this way!

Only problem is I need an ON/OFF switch for the motherboard header and also a RESET switch.

Notice the handy refill hole for a reservoir! :D

    Fit your own toggle switches?

Quick update on my building endeavours for a water cooling virgin!

Cleaned a couple of second hand 240 RADS I bought from the Marketplace on these very forums. Bought six bottles of distilled white vinegar with a weak aquarium pump and it cleaned out the two RADS pretty good. Flushed them both with deionised water but I plan to do another cycle of vinegar and back to the water again before a final leak test. Even for a weak pump it managed to shift a few little pieces from both RADS. Mostly black flakes and a residual blue and yellow dye.

For the flush cycles I bought a couple of cheap plastic containers that work wonders as a reservoir. Since the aquarium pump is submersible it's dead easy to do a RAD clean. Also the deionised water cost just £2.90 for 5 Litres from a local general store!

It's all built and I have a ridiculous loop fitting of the Loch Ness Monster!

During the leak test everything I had a hand in building worked flawlessly. However the Alphacool VP655 complete with plexi-top leaked! In the process of striping the unit then I'll apply silicone grease around the o-ring. That should put a stop to the one leak in my Loch Ness Project!

Disappointed one of my VP655 units malfunctioned also dropped a RAD from the build so I'm down to one 240 RAD and a couple of Delta fans. I think I'll survive with Delta power alone! :D

    That is beautifully hideous.

    That was my intention! :D

I love it. Also this operates passively and keeps the E8500 at around 60 degrees running Prime 95. Turning the twin Delta FFB1212EHE fans to maximum actually overloads my 500 Watt UPS and chills the rig to around 40 degrees. Not at all bad for this beast!

I wouldn't say that overloading your UPS is actually a good achievement...

On the flipside; that must be capable of levitating with those two Deltas.

Although seriously; it looks like you're using CokeCola for coolant. Pick a nice red or something, dude.

Just a warning beep that it won't maintain power at that level should the mains go off. Nothing too serious! :thumb:

It actually lifts dust and cobwebs off the carpet! :D

Mayhems Blood Red in use, although it must be reacting with something to give it this odd colouration. Before anyone asks, yes I had cleaned everything out! I'm going to try the Nanoxia Hyperzero UV Green that Bit-Tech recommended a few weeks ago.

Sure it's not just bits of copper dislodged into the loop? Could be something like that.

No, it was crystal clear simply with distilled water. Dye reaction is most probable.

Possible. Could get in touch with mayhems about it? Might have a solution?

I'm not that fussed, it's only all a bit of fun! :thumb:

Very happy my 680i motherboard is finally tamed. Currently running Prime95 and my Core#0 is at 62 max, Core#1 has hit 55 max and my MCP is only 37 degrees! This is all with my fans completely off and the Alphcool VP655 at it's maximum rate of 5. Simply astonishing!

Tamed the beast a little as depicted below...

Curious about creating my own closed loop system I came up with this solution...

    Looks great under UV...
