    If so, great. IIRC it still scratches really easily, I don't actually know which would be the more durable material.

    i somehow doubt the 100% part. is the lcd 100% recyclable? the cpu? the motherboard? last i saw on tv, those things were sent off to hong kong to be melted in a tin cup.

    Melting in a tin cup is not recycling?

    There tends to be trace but significant amounts of gold in most of the gear we covet, which tends to make it worth reclaiming; other things, like tin, tend to be grabbed while they're at it. The PCBs, I suspect, are the least of our troubles - other than that they're made of epoxy-fixed fiberglass, and epoxy is an environmental nightmare.
