News Battlefield 3 ships 10 million copies

If you used a proxy switcher you could have been playing on the 25th like a lot of people .

 

10 million plus people all trying to authenticate/download and play ...all at midnight/the sametime.

And people wonder why EA's systems struggled.

I ain't buying this til nearer Christmas... when it's patched proper and the servers are less over loaded.

 

im interested to see how much of that 10 mill was on the pc

 

Went home for lunch today and managed to get it to unlock and started the install from CD. When i get home it will need disc 2 and no doubt a reasonable patch too.

 

i just hope that my copy is waiting for me at home, amazon says it was dispatched yesterday so fingers crossed

 

this is crazy month, i still want Arkham City, Skyrim and Uncharted 3

 

That's a shame, I was only interested in the single-player. Guess I'll hold off until the inevitable holiday price-drops and DLC-bundling.

 

Kind of. The few million NA players (and sneaky EU players with proxies) got a bit of a head start and even now with the full release in all zones not everyone has actually recieved their copy yet as evidenced by this thread.

I'd also be interested in what kind of figures digital distribution sources sold to see a total sales record.

most of those sales are probably console.

 

I believe there is a 200mb patch straight off.

 

I admit that I had made a pre-order but since it isn't from Origin, I doubt I contributed to the statistics.

Can't comment on Multiplayer, even though I've been playing the game since Tuesday evening, I haven't been able to connect to a game server due to errors connecting to Battlelog and the EA server :-\

I'm having so much fun with this. I think the single player campaign is pretty dull, but I reeeeally am enjoying the co-op and the multiplayer. I hope they add more co-op missions sometime because I've already completed 3 out of 6 on hard in the first few nights.

Im glad to see it wasnt only me that got my delivery a day late from amazon...I ordered it 24 days before it was released with 1st class....you would expect them to atleast get it on release date ffs

 

That is exactly why I dont order the cheaper hard copy of the game from play, amazon ect.
Whenever I did that I got the game late. It may cost a few pounds more, but atleast with digital copy, you get the game on time, in my case i unlocked it last monday, 5 days before UK release, and didnt have to wait for the installtion.

 

Yep, I agree. Digital Download = more convenient = less stress .
