Little update on how things go... I'm working on front fibergrass panels just now and I started with sculpting models. Pictured is the left side (if you didn't notice ) It's not perfect, but it doesn't have to be, because the final fiberglass part will be ..oh yeah, and those ugly screws you can see on side panels, they will be covered with body filler and sanded down so the surface will stay nice and smooth...
No I don't think so... I really like it as it is, but the plan is to leave a small gap (1-2mm) between the front panel and a fan, just in case I change my mind...
This is looking fantastic mate, can't believe I missed this until now. Congratz on your MOTM nomination.
looking good man. keep it up, and you will close the gap between BETA and TRON. you gotta punch it now.
Finally... an update. I took ages to finish these front parts, fiberglassing, sanding, body filler, sanding, more body filler, more sanding ... still needs a couple of final bits to fix, but nothing major and that will be done before primer... ...next is the back panel and prespex top this is how it looks so far:
This case is so unique. I really like the curved lines. Very original. It takes some doing to get away from the rectangular box shape that most of our systems have. Congrats on the MOTM nom.
True & fibreglass seems to let the imagination run wild, curves on 1 angle is great but curves all over is very awesome , I see fibreglass somewhere down the road in modding for me .
Thank you k.3nny! Thanks! Thanks, hope you will like it... Even a box can look good imo, but yeah, I wanted to try something different with this project... Thanks Yes, fiberglass gives much more freedom in design, but it's sometimes a real mess to work with
I really like this design...looks like the head of a MechWarrior and your skills with shaping the foam board are awesome!
Lol I almost went & said that too , must be a transformer that changes from a ladybird to a pc to a MechWarrior .
