Tim, how would you suggest changing the help graphic?

anyway, here i did some more. also changed the help one, tell me if it's any better.

these are a little generic but i think they're kinda cool. then again, i would say that, wouldn't i?

Alextwo -- that looks awesome, great work!

Fod -- I just felt that it required some text so that people would be able to understand exactly what the icon signified (if it's not obvious from the image). :thumb:

    I like the ones you've created :)

They all are great icons, but they do lack a sense of uniformity IMHO.

I see where you're coming from Gilder, although not all icons are going to be available for use in every forum. I think the best thing to do is to create a set so that we can launch the new forum template and then if anyone wants to tweak from there, they're obviously more than welcome to put suggestions forward like is the case with smilies too. :)

In the spirit of a common theme:

well if we're gonna have a common theme:
[IMG] OR [IMG] <-- if you're wondering, the bit=tech font 'x' looks likean 'H' at small sizes. plus a system font is more 'hackerey', and thus suited to this :D

Hmm, If I had to bet, I'd go with [IMG] style instead of [IMG] style (Tim, ecxuse me for hotlinking ;)) . The former seems to fit better in the general style of the site.

no offense mate but a tiny photo with black text overlaid is ****ing impossible to read or make out. if they were bigger yeah definitely use more detailed images like photos, but honestly? symbolism is beter for this kinda small stuff.

can I see your second *nix one with the text moved up a couple of pixels and tux moved over to the right 2-4 pixels? (I could do it, but I figured that if you had the PSDs it would be much easier for you.)

some great icons, but may i suggest the whitespace be bit-tech blue and the text be white?
or make the text bit blue.. either seems a good idea.

    just my $0.02
