    Coming along nicely. :thumb:
I'm interested to see if you can buff the face smooth again. I've always wanted to do carbon.

    hello everybody

hello and thank you Vault-Tec :D

    hello Cheapskate

it's easy to remove with a rotary sander , the layer is really thin .

I started the first clear gloss coat

    I made some mistakes

the carbon has moved , and some millimetres are missing :waah::waah:

but this carbon and clear gloss are beautiful !

some imperfections , I can correct with the second layer
    [IMG]

    good effect
    [IMG]

    few millimetres are missing
    [IMG]

but the most beautiful is the "rear"
the carbon has moved too much , and make me a " strange effect"

and some troubles.. it's look like some " Limestone deposit ", I don't know why

    carbon waves

now , I need to make 2 psu covers : atx /sfx , a little block of Polyurethane

    a curved side , a 45° angle , and a plate side
    [IMG]

    a primer coat
    [IMG]

    and wait 24 hours ....

    and next time .... :D

Great job! Makes me want to take the sander to my case covers and clear coat them again. It is cool to see how you're using the foam to make your molds!

I like the "imperfections". It looks like an exotic wood or tiger's eye.

    thank you Cleveland216

    with a sander , I use a 120 grit , but be careful ! and finish resin 240 grit .

Cheapskate , You made me smile and gave me "good vibrations" with your message ! I was really hesitate to " erase " again ,
I was really "desperate" , thank you !

    a "little update "

I just sanded and prepared the case for a second "clear gloss coat "

I also tinted ssd support , dvd support , and pci plate in "purple " , just to try :D

and moulded the psu cover , i need to wait now 24 h

    I need your opinions

I hesitate for the choices and directions of my " cpu air cooling " ....

case sanded .... and Some tests for the final results .

on the top , all covers will be in aluminium .

    no screw

    dvd driver on the left

perhaps , I will "hide" the power button on "right door " for a " better " Minimalist visual .

    "future" inside
noctua will blow to front side , but it's closed .

    2 options

I drill the "front face" with 1.5 mm holes , like my old lian li pc v600 ( holes are in 3 mm) , choice N°1

    choice N°1
    [IMG]

    or

I keep the front side , I let "natural convection" and hot air is going by " doors holes in 2 mm " and a "small area" on the top case . "The hatched areas" are 2 mm in my draw , the "choice N°2"

    choice N°2
    [IMG]

for me , I prefer , choice N°1 , for better cooling , and loose the beautiful front side , it's also my future pc workstation in ryzen

don't hesitate for your help and choice x 1 or 2

apologizes for my bad English , really .

    bye and next time

You can always sand the part and add a coat of resin. Or a layer of carbon and resin.

Usagi, the case looks aweaome. Especially with the 45* bias unidirectional carbon. The imperfections make it look like marble, I dig it.
