I'd recommend Wynn's FastAction stuff. Orange bottle. Gets rid of mud and grease easily enough... so I suppose it should manage brake dust...

I use autoglym clean wheels for mine

Spray it on for a minute to soak and then wipe off. May take a few goes though

Mine are multi spoke jobbies so I use a cloth with my finger or a toothbrush :)

If you're having the wheel repaired then it'll get sandblasted anyway so you needn't waste your time.

I'd second what Xen0phobiak says. Unless they tell you it'll cost more, just send it to them as is. If they have to repair the wheel, they'll most likely clean it anyway.

£75?! How badly damaged is it? Usually members of a car club im in get them blasted, repaired and powdercoated for about £40-50 per rim.
