would guess its a 120mm fan as mini ITX boards are only 170 x 170

Thanks Asouter. Big_malc is correct, it is a 120mm slim fan. The footprint of this build is about that of a standard-sized mouse pad. At least the one I've got at work and home, anyway. I can try to get some size reference shots later.

I'm not sure what that is (Don't watch CSI myself) but I was just thinking I might have to swipe a pop can from work, and bring it home with me... I don't drink anything that comes in a can at home lol

    Thanks, Mosquito and Big malc.
I wondered if it was a 120, Having not built an itx (yet) I'm still trying to get my head around how small these things are :)

The mini ITX 's back plate is the same size as a regular atx back plate if that helps. So the boards are only a little bigger than that.

Not a problem, still working on the reference shots, I wasn't home until late last night so no time on that one.

For the width, that's about right, it's an I/O shield plus one expansion slot. That's about it. It's that size, square.

Thanks Waynio. I'm bringing it to a LAN this weekend, so I may have a few "action shots" to add later...
It's an Age of Empires II LAN, so yes, it will do just fine :p

Looks great, man.:thumb: That's an excellent choice of materials. They go good together.
I would have posted sooner, but...

Thanks Cheaps, I seem to have a liking for the darker red + more golden colors... my retro HTPC followed a similar color scheme (actually, I used the same stain color, just in oil based rather than gel... don't think I'll use gel stains again)

Yes, that comment nearly made me spit my beverage when I read it

Thanks opelgt. Glad you enjoyed it :)

Thanks! That means a lot coming from you. I bet you've guessed where some of the inspiration came from ;)

I knew there was some reason why I loved it. :hehe: Two-tone woodgrain can really work if you get a proper contrast.

Thanks. I had totally thought I went with Red Oak veneer, until I happened to look at the packaging, and noticed it said Mahogany (this was after applying it already). I knew I went back and forth between the two, but I swore I went with RO lol

That said, I like the grain in the Mahogany more than red oak, in this application, I'm glad I somehow went with it lol. Popping the grain on the Curly maple front turned out really well too :)

    Thanks Bolldog :)

    Thanks!

Thank you very much. I really like the look of the woods as well :)

I took it to an Age of Empires II LAN this past Saturday. I don't have tons of good pictures of the LAN in progress (too busy killing things) but I did get these two after I got setup, but before the bulk of everyone else showed up:

    And zoomed in a little:

It performed admirably! We played Age II all day, and I was hosting all the games. It only ever got to 58*C the whole time, and it probably got up to around 78*F in that garage while we were playing. It hosted the games fine, with no issues :)
