So I guess the conroe would win my only problem is that the boards for conroe are lacking should I plan on waiting until they get better boards? I couldn't find any sli that was my concern. and i wanted to test imbedding something.
How do they "win"? You do know certain chipsets like the Nforce series was originally planned for AMD first? and only recently that Nvidia made them for Pentiums and Conroe. Nforce based 590 mobo's for Conroe are on their way. Personally i prefer Intel chipsets with Intel cpu's. Id go for a 975X Chipset.
My concern is the lack of Conroe with SLI from what I have seen I will go search some more. O and I mean that it wins my use of it over the other. It seems conroe is much more powerful than the AMD I was looking at and still priced quite well. May try to afford the 6700 conroe. Found this board wondered who has tryed it any mods seen it? ASUS P5W DH
Well this whole conroe thing is getting annoying finding a good board. ANyone have a board that does SLI and Conroe?
I'm going to wait for the best boards to come out and the demand to settle a little before going the Conroe route.
Rumour has it that the first load of nforce5 Intel Edition boards (or whatever they'll be called) will have awful memory performance because nvidia are using an old skool controller. The new memory controller wont be implemented until the end of the year at least.
Thats a good board according to anandtech - they did a big massive conroe baord test and it came out tops. Not sure about the accuracy of it though, the guys at xtremesystems have found the Gigabyte P965 board owned it.
nForce 4? Some nForce 4 x16 intel edn boards support Conroe, check with manufs. nforce 590 intel wont arrive until the end of next august. Was the memory performance particuarly bad on NF4 intels?
