CPU CPU for 2D

    Which would give the best performance for 2d graphic programs (Illustrator, Photoshop):

    1. Xeon® E3-1230 + ASRock B75 PRO3
    2. i5 2500k (4800) + ASRock Z68 Ex4

    You can overclock the 2500k, so it will always beat a xeon, even without hyper threading. Thats the way I would go.

    These programs can be accelerated with the right video cards too. What card are you running?

    2d work likes more cores

    So the Xeon is always faster in its 6/8 core variant more so if using duel CPUs

    Only nvidia cards boost certain elements of 2d work
