Ok, so i've wondered for a while if it's really worth getting one, and the benefits, considering everything is going digital. I've found this here really cheap: http://www.primoit.co.uk/products/S...x-8x-8x?searchtrack=Unknown&prodid=727795 but i'm not sure I really need one right now? Or anyone recommend an alternative, heard LG drives just as good? Am I just wasting my cash or what?
Please consider that every 50GB Blu-Ray disc will cost 11-15% of the value of that entire writer. The hardware isn't expensive. The media is. A 10 disc / 50GB spindle is 68 GBP. That's for 500GB of storage. You would be better off with a small 2.5" portable HDD. And keep in mind, everyone will have a USB port for you to plug into. But despite their falling prices, Blu-Ray readers (not writers) are still quite uncommon.
I have the Pioneer. Good drive. Whether you actually need one? Well, if you want to play or burn Blu-Rays, then yeah.
Yeah I was maybe thinking movies *ahem* but then, I don't really watch a movie twice.. and at the cost of discs you're halfway towards buying a second hand movie.
