No idea what boost to expect from sandy bridge but surely it should be somewhat better than i5 or i7, even if I complete my mod before they release I'm gonna hold on to see if it's a decent leap forward from my skt 775 ddr2 lol. I want something where I'll feel a noticable difference in performance before I upgrade system parts but either way I want all angled sata ports :D.

Sandy bridge will still not surpass the X58 i7 range in terms of performance, it may bring it's prices down though. I hardly think Intel would shoot themselves in the foot that way though. Sandybridge is replacing the socket 1156 (Sandy bridge = 1155), setting Intels mid range up for a performance increase in their high end CPUs. We will need to wait and see how the X68? chipset fairs, hopefully it is released next year sometime.

And I thought today would be bland but to save me from my boredom, I got a package in the mail :)

It was none other than the SSD Mach Xtreme have kindly offered as a contribution to the Kyubu build.

The inclusion of a 2.5 to 3.5 inch bracket is a welcome addition especially when it looks this badass!

I am waiting for daylight to get better pictures as I refuse to use flash photography. I will be heading to Dubai and Singapore until the 25th of Jan 2011 but once I get back you will be treated to some telling benchmarks :) I will try to do some updates before I leave and when I get back lets hope theres a Sandy Bridge in mATX form on the market.

Oh, I returned my Rampage Gene III if you guys didnt know!

:D Why not if you can, sandy bridge has got to be worth it I'm hoping for a significant boost coming from my q9650, not bothered about some things the i7 does, just want to see a good boost in games really so my 580 isn't bottlenecked.

    Funky looking ssd btw :D.

Nice SSD. I was looking at that Mach stuff when I was choosing my SSD, being a new kid on the block I wasn't willing to give them a try and settled with a Vertex 2. Perhaps I will give them a shot in the future.

Thanks to EK and Mach Xtreme for their sponsorship in 2010, it's comforting to know they will be back supporting me in 2011 as well :)

It's been a huge year and it has been busy not only for my hobbies, but in general. Got engaged, moved into my factory, started a career etc etc. Next year in many ways has been setup by the successes of this year and it should be fairly exciting.

Enjoy the photos and see you guys in 2011 :) (I am about to head on holidays till next year).

Bit last ditch but if you guys have the time, please vote for MOTM!

Will have to wait for the benchies to come back when I get back from Dubai and Singapore on the 25th of Jan 2011.
