<opinion>I have to agree. Its not a competition, but this is better than piloux's. Not to snub him or anything, i just think this case is cooler.</opinion> Very sweet man. You have taken a few pages out of piloux's book, tho. Regardless, this is the best hl2 mod i have seen to date.
Very nice job. You have some great ideas there. I wish you had some more pictures while you were working on the detailed parts (like the door). I would have loved to see what you did to achieve these details. Also, for the external fan, did you make it yourself? or did you mod an external Tt fan?
[sarcasm] Wow, o great another person who has modded a computer.[/sarcasm] Really though it looks great. I dont think anyone has a patent on half life themed mods so your in the clear!
Somebody asked , how i did the "Lambda Core" Making a How2 of this would be . . . . This "Lambda Core" is just fake. Its not part of a WaterCooling System or something else. In fact its made of an old Bottle of Shampoo with colored water. It just has to look dangerous. The Exterior Fan is made by myself. Just took an old 80mm Fan , fix it on a small wooden plate >>> Bingo !
this is a really nice case i donno about that but i would ahve to say this is right up there if not better i love the idea witht eh reactor and everything
looks good, awesome work really.... but i dont approve copying the idea. *will duck and cover, if hl2 themed casemods will become as usual as chieftec dragon cases*
HL Cases have been way over done, but however not like ammo boxes. I must admit however, every HL style case I see looks so good with that faux rust and green water cooling.
I thought Black Mesa was the name of the research facility and Gordon Freeman worked for the government/millitary? kick ass case btw!
Maybe not better than Piloux newest mod! But certainly better than the first! But I agree about Belgium being a bad place for finding parts, but Norway is the worst! In this little crap country I can't even find some real rust paint, so I have to oder it from Italy!
Amagad! In Norway I can't find anything, but I was just wondering where you found this transparent tube:
closed . . . . open . . . I really like the little light shinning down, Please note: I am stealing this for a mod that I am currently working on, and yes it's a little rusty......
I was getting a little sick of the swarm of rusted cases that've been appearing, but this is definitely one of the best. Well done.. well done indeed!
Will y'all please stop your "It's been done" whining already. Personally, I just can't get enough of a good mod, whatever the theme. And this is a good mod. Just let it roll! "Mesa" is greek for "table" although it can also mean "media". I suspect that the name of the secret experimental facility was meant to alude to "blackboard". Greek for "black" is "mavros", by the way, but perhaps they felt that Mesa Mavros was too obscure. Perhaps it was meant to be Latin... "mensa" is Latin for "table", "niger" for "black" -- I guess Mensa Niger didn't have a good ring to it though --too many people with poor spelling skills could accuse you of racism. But it would be wrong anyway, as the correct Latin word in this context would not be "mensa" but "tabula".
Black Mesa is the govt. research facility that Gordon Freeman works in, which is located in New Mexico.
