Very nice work mate. And that mimic spider is... mimicking very well, I thought it was a ant.

yeah... weird spider... i thought i only saw6 legs... then realized one of his legs is lifted up and pointed at the camera so you don't really see it.

When the spider was on my green tea bottle, initially I thought it was an ant--until it leaped off leaving a strand of webbing between it and the bottle. I'll probably never see another one again.

The snake didn't have a choice ;) The spider, otoh, did...and that's why there is only one shot of it :(
    Thanks for the responses :)

:hehe: Damn you ssR, have you viewed it on a dark BG yet!? If yes and your answer is still no, then all I can say is that it isn't for everyone ;)

Awesome job Vers. I would have thought for sure you had it modeling for you on a lease basis ;) (a comment to how good the portraiture is of course.)
#1 and the white-framed one are deffo my favorites. Good compositions that work well with the concept of a snake.

The spider I though was an ant mimicking a spider until I had read the description a couple times and finally understood it :D

I still think you've got an amazing amount of crazy bugs where you live. Here all bugs are gray and harmless :D

Thnx OleJ. I found the garter under a tarp covering a unit of lumber--had just enough time to grab him by his tail before he scooted underneath. Then, with snake in hand, I went to the woodline to find a branch to use as a 'prop'. I found one, but I still needed a way to set the branch vertical, and so a handtruck was used. He was a pretty happy camper once placed on the branch, though he did make a few attempts to leap off (hence the ground shot). Sometimes you've got to manipulate the subject in order to get a decent shot, some are easier than others--good thing snakes have no legs or wings ;)
