Hi, Hoping you can help, my primary SSD failed boot and now I can't format it. I built a new primary boot using a spare SSD however this original SSD is showing in Disk Management as Healthy GPT Protective Partition. Any idea how I can format it? I tried diskpart clean but fails with an error. Motherboard - ASUS PRIME X570-P Problem SSD - WD_BLACK SN850 1 TB O/S - Windows 11 Home
Sorry for the delay wwas away with work; error is: DiskPart has encountered an error: The semaphore timeout period has expired. See the System Event Log for more information.

That would suggest to me that your new Windows install is also fairly broken. What OS are you running?
Try minitool partition wizard (assuming you're on windows) It's a simple "right click and delete all partitions" to completely reset the drive. It's worked wonders for me over the years for problems like this.
