    Looks like a 1952 Chevy Bel Air but the line down the fender says no.

    Chevies were smooth

    actually, I spotted the R8 while I was looking at simca's after having eliminated fiats, the dip in the hood reminded me of other older renault styles.

    the current clue is a car my father had when I was a boy.

    This is difficult. Could be a 1950s US car, a 1960s Holden, or any year from anywhere since we don't know where you were as a child or how long ago that was.

    The DS saved President de Gaulle from two assassination attempts! Anybody seen the new Citroen C6, I really like it, but I'm glad that I'm not the one taking the depreciation hit, it will be an absolute bargain in a couple of years.
