I don't know how to define the genre of this song: The Cinematic Orchestra - To Build A Home But i'm looking for more songs like it. I'm trying to find slow, powerful, and preferably piano/orchestral music that would make one cry because it is so deep, sad, and beautiful. I have everything by Coldplay, but it's not powerful enough. I have everything by Radiohead too, and while I love them, they don't have all that much in this genre exactly. Suggestions?
Amy Seeley - Gravel Lines Ludovico Einaudi - Primavera Ludovico Einaudi - Giorni Dispari a lot of you will remember this piece from TopGear S11E02, the Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black, yes you know the one.
Open Arms by Journey? Every Rose Has Its Thorn by Poison? Sorry if I'm way off - on my phone atm, and can't listen to Youtube vids (at least, not without waiting 10 minutes per 5 seconds of footage).
Interestingly, I stumbled upon the original song on this thread on Top Gear S14E03 during the Lancia documentary.
Damn I thought this was a thread dedicated to the Lagwagon song Heartbreaking Music. *sulks and retires to his punk rock*
Anything by The Black Heart Procession. More complex than just piano and voice. Amazing film noir/cinematic pieces. Very moving and great use of a musical saw among other things http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yz8b7GaYcFg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RSI5qiJtf4 Also check out Tindersticks/Stuart Staples http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTN9wgvqp4E There are so many songs I could have linked, love these two bands.
The only thing I can think of. It might not sound so powerfull but if you listen to it after the rest of the album it gains much more meaning. Oh and Anaesthetize is pretty similar but there's no way I'm going to be a ble to find the whole song on youtube.
There is one radiohead song like that: Also, Yorke has said a couple of times that if Street Spirit doesn't upset you, you haven't understood it...
