Modding Help fitting a slimeline drive in a 5.25" bay

    Titles says it all apart from the fact I can mod aswell as a tortoise, I mean... what's a dremel and what's it used for? So please, simple ideas only

    Slimeline Optical Drive ----> 5.25" Bay = :wallbash:

    Simple? Duct tape.

    otherwise, you're going to need to fabricate a little bracket to hold it in p[lace, and cut a slot in a blanking plate to go over the front.

    Could I use a CD Drive Bezel, and put the slimeline in there like that with the slimeline drive just jutting out

    tyvm, it think ill buy a bezel aswell, its considerably more pricy than I'd have liked but thats the price for what I havein mind its worth it

    Plastic feet screwed into the side that touch the bottom of the 5.25 slot.

    That said you might have to cut a whole on one of the 5.25 covers.

    I'm planning on gutting an old broken optical drive for its shell and mounting the slim drive in there. That way I can install the unit in any bay I want.
