Read the last update again? ;)

Hehe, ok ok - I've also been skipping information when reading worklogs, so who am I to tease you? They're 1" (2,5 cm.) wide and about the same in height.

    Yes, I'm really impressed!

    Think again, my friend.

I have started fixing up out apartment. For a long time now we've been thinking about buying a bigger place, but we finally decided on staying here for a couple of years more, and then simply fixing up the place. This is not a bad thing, as it also involves renovating my modding/gaming office AND major upgrades to my workshop in our small basement room. More on that later.

However, this mod isn't dead by far. I got some big things in store for you guys. I hope to able to reveal them pretty soon!

Just realized that "The Scratchbench" would be a much more fitting name for this project, since "The Scrapbench" really didn't fit the project anymore. Basically no scrapped parts in this build anymore - so there you have it. The Scratchbench.

If I knew the language, there'd be cheesecake on it's way. Sadly the only Danish word I know is bacon.

No, this project isn't dead by FAR.
Only thing holding it up is that we're currently redecorating and painting our apartment, so that will have to be done first.

Crazy workload @ work doesn't really help, either. And got tonnes of projects waiting to be completed. In order of priority:

    1. Remodel the apartment
    2. Remodel the basement workshop
    3. Finish "Project: The Scratchbench"
    4. Finish project "Pimping/modifying my bicycle" - really need this to strengthen my knees, to make me able to run again.
    5. Finish the webpage hotmods.net

There's work for at least 3 months in there, so... :-/

Alright, let's get this one rolling again.

The client project, BabyShark, that I talked about back in July is long done and although I am currently doing some renovation work in our apartment, there's no reason for me to not tell you what's happening to this project.

And, as I mentioned earlier this autumn, big things are happening.

The first thing to mention is that the project now has a sponsor.

Coolerkit.dk once again came through for me! Yay! Thanks, Michael. ;)

    Michael sent me this package:

    THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!!!

So, let's get it opened, shall we? ;)

    Tadaaaaa!

For some reason, I'm still one fan short. I think it was from back when the radiators for this project were "only" 2 x 240 mm - so only 4 fans needed. And then, if you look at the Google Sketchup drawings, it went to 1 x 360 mm and 1 x 240 mm, so that was probably what I had in mind when I asked Michael if he could throw in an additional fan. Brainfart on my side, I know. I might ask Michael for a sixth fan, or simply pay for it myself. Ah, I don't know, really... I've already asked for quite a lot, I know. :/

    Anyway, another package also arrived.

In the middle of November, I wrote something about a package being on its way from Germany.

    Well, this is the one:

    Cut, cut, cut!

Looks like Aqua Computer barfed on my desk:

That's an Aqualis reservoir, an Aqua Computer D5 pump, an Aqua Computer D5 pump top and some wires (RGB LED, Aquabus wires, etc.)

Really looking forward to connecting this reservoir and pump with my Aquaero 5. The reservoir tube is made from borosilicate glass, which means no more cracked reservoirs! (I hope)

This is what Wikipedia has to say about borosilicate glass:

"Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with the main glass-forming constituents silica and boron oxide. Borosilicate glasses are known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion (~3 × 10-6 /°C at 20°C), making them resistant to thermal shock, more so than any other common glass. Such glass is less subject to thermal stress and is commonly used for the construction of reagent bottles. Borosilicate glass is sold under such trade names as Simax, Pyrex, Endural, Schott, or Refmex."

Ok, boring hardware shots over - let's get down to some actual modding.

In a previous post I had started polishing the capacitators on the motherboard. Well, not really polishing, but rather using Acetone to remove what what written on top of them.

    I finished that job now:

Hopefully, it won't be too long until I post the next update. But, I guess you never know with me. ;)
