This is new to me but it is absolute genius! Had me in fits! http://howtoprankatelemarketer.ytmnd.com/ Rysz.
Having worked in Telesales... This is not so funny... These guys have a job to do just like anyone else... HOWEVER.... There is good telesales and bad telesales... We have all had experience of both I would expect... ALthough I expect people to say that all telesales are bad! Expecially when they get you out of the bath like one did to me last night!
I hate telesales from mobile companies, especially when they ring me on my mobile phone. "Hello sir I am ringing from XYZ mobile sales and...." "GO away you are not allowed to call this number"
The best one I've heard is one from some compnay trying to get my brother to sign up for a mobile- at that point my brother hangs up. I've also had them phoning up and asking for him directly, and when told he's out, they ask "are you a family member?" If you say yes they start hasseling you (I've even had them trying to confirm his bank details, with them telling me my brothers' account number), I've even said I'm not a family member and they've said "well since you've answered the phone, would you be interested in a mobile pho...."
Yeah thats true... They rang on my mobile and said "Hello sire I ringing from Mobile4uextra" "Right ok" "Do you have a mobile phone currently" "Are you joking? **** off..." Thats the best one I had... Mind you I say best... None of them are good i suppose!
Yeah, there was a time when I would give them at least a little bit of respect, but after lots of people called for the same thing I just stopped. The woman who was insulting me because I didnt want there super cheap phone over the one I have was just embarrasing for her. I dont get them anymore luckily, Im on that list which means I get taken off any and all lists they have It may be a job, but its your job to harrass people in their own homes, not a job I would be particularly proud of.
When I get those mobile phone people ringing, I let them rant, and tell me of the offers they have, and then when they ask about my current contract/package, I just tell them I'm currently paying £5 a month for 10,000 free minutes and 80,000 free texts each month with no line rental and free upgrades every 3 months. They hang up on me at that point.
i love getting like AT&T long distance calling me on my mobile... or better, the ones asking if i'd like to buy such and such product... (especially things i'd never use.... like windows software)
Blademrk - First ask for the supervisor, then tell them that they're breaking the law. Say the following:- "By calling a line registered with the Telephone Preference Service, you are in direct violation of the 'Telecommunications (Data Protection & Privacy) Regulations of May 1999'. This means that when I report you to OfCom, they can levy a fine of up to 50,000 pounds against you." If they are calling from a withheld number or are using an automated dialling device (which is almost certain), then they fall foul of the EU Distance Selling Directive.
