Have one of these at home, works flawlessly every time (cuts into the side of the can and lifts the lid off rather than cutting down). http://www.marksandspencer.com/easy-can-opener/p/p22370878
Like this. Works too, I've been caught short with a can of soup at work before now and used this method! The guy in this video is crap at it though, with a bit of practice you'll be in within 30 seconds.
Have one of these: Worked flawlessly for ~50 years (still sharp as new), prob will work for another 50. The fancy new ones even come with cork screw. Hate the crank/butterfly style ones, they break very easily and also are a bitch to clean off properly.
I've yet to encounter a tin that can't be opened with one of these - Whoever if you're old an arthritic than maybe one of those kenwood electric tin openers is probably your best bet
I am sure this would work wonders for my arthritis and I imagine my cutlery. But noted should I ever be really stuck. Putting it like that i suppose not. Too late I have thirty tins of tuna without ring pulls.
I must get one of these. Can openers are clunky pain in the arse. This is a much more elegant approach.
Anyone got a link for this, I can find the hinged variety but not the unhinged? Found out what it is just not where to get one. It's a Fiskar 838076 CAN OPENER - STEEL
http://www.scandinavianstuff.com/en/swedish-design/kitchen-stuff/swedish-cantin-opener#addedtocart That's the best I've found so far. It looks like 10 euros all in, which is expensive for what it is.
