This question has been asked too many times to count... http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=158277 http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=87405 http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=152142 http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=145222 So many times, in fact, that it has now become part of the LCD FAQ stickie. Use the forum search, Luke...
Infact i searched for "laptop monitor" or "laptop display" but maybe that's because i seached in the "display" forum... ok..this is the time when i finally buy an itx motherboard (with lvds integrated)
Even then, good luck with that. Laptop screens use custom connectors, with custom pinouts. Then there is the control for the backlight and what not. its honestly cheaper just buying yourself a new LCD monitor. I have looked into this myself, wanting to use a small monochrome LCD panel as a monitoring panel for temperatures and the like. its really way way way too difficult to even comprehend. Just finding pinouts is hard enough, then you have to find a compatible controller board. I think you would have more luck getting a psone mobile screen, or something like that.
