Electronics laptop display as external display

    Hello Everybody...
    today i decided to dismantle an old hp xt1000s laptop my mother burned..
    i got to try it out if i found a psu...anyway i decided to salvage the lcd screen and i wish to make of it and external display (lol)
    it's a samsung unit: ltn141xf-l05 1024x768

    i've tryed to google for the datasheet but i can't find it..

    so..does someone have any experience with this? :cooldude:

    Infact i searched for "laptop monitor" or "laptop display" but maybe that's because i seached in the "display" forum...

    ok..this is the time when i finally buy an itx motherboard (with lvds integrated)

    Even then, good luck with that.
    Laptop screens use custom connectors, with custom pinouts. Then there is the control for the backlight and what not.

    its honestly cheaper just buying yourself a new LCD monitor. I have looked into this myself, wanting to use a small monochrome LCD panel as a monitoring panel for temperatures and the like.
    its really way way way too difficult to even comprehend. Just finding pinouts is hard enough, then you have to find a compatible controller board.

    I think you would have more luck getting a psone mobile screen, or something like that.
