Indeed. An oversized John Lewis wine goblet was the best I could muster at short notice though. Plus that glass costs as much as the bottle!

Hey now, JL do get some pretty nice stuff in! I've see some wonderful decants in the glassware section.

My logic is the glass you are drinking out of should at least be of a comparable quality - price aside. Appreciate it was last minute but do you see what I mean? You should try one of the Riedel master classes if you ever get an opportunity, they demo what the right glass does for the liquid - it's really quite amazing.

I drink everything from the bottle, or a cup*; I am the epitome of class.

*( I have a Nutella 'glass' I use for drinking Irish cream from- they make for nice looking glasses actually )...

My X230 arrived today! First impressions are very good, I am extremely happy for the price I got it at, but there are certain things about it which I will be addressing:

    • The Windows install that came on it is as simple as possible - not a factory image, just a plain W7 Pro X64 install with none of the necessary hardware drivers or Windows updates whatsoever. I would have liked it to come with the factory image but it's not a big deal, I can install all the relevant drivers and create my own recovery partition.
    • There is also slight damage to the chassis around the card reader slot, indicating a small drop at some point. At the moment it prevents the use of the card reader with larger cards. That will probably have to stay as it is because I presume a whole new chassis for it would be pretty expensive, but I think I can bend it back into shape so I can use the card reader.
    • As well as the other upgrades that I mentioned in my initial post, I would also like to add the biometric reader for easy fingerprint access.

All in all though, I'm a happy bunny! :)

Yeah I thought so, it was a case of click buy as soon as it turned 2pm, then check the price. Bring on Glentress and the Trek Slash!

On amazon it was £349.99 down to £299.99 I think, it then "Black Friday'd" down to £229.99 for the Hero 3 Black.

Loud :sigh: I'd have jumped at that, as would one of my work colleagues whose son wants one for Christmas - he's a wake boarding & speed boating enthusiast.
