Good lord, Sierra... There's a name you don't see any more... They were huge at one point; I just had to look it up to confirm, but they published the original Half-Life...

I reviewed Ken Williams' autobiography a while back: Not All Fairy Tales Have Happy Endings. Interesting guy, and a real walk through memory lane!

Finally managed to pick up one of these:

Took a while to get through it all over the past 3 days, and it feels like one of the most complex builds that I have done, even more so than the Porsche GT3.

I think I need to find one of the LandRovers as well now. I just hope that LEGO produce more bikes in this scale.

It is a great build. 1920 parts with a very good 3 speed (1 down - neutral - 2 up as it should be) gearbox. LOTS of stickers though which I don't mind, but it has taken some criticism for. Some parts are very fiddly, especially getting some of the pins to line up when fitting things like the body panels, but nothing too bad.

I do have some of the other Technic bikes that LEGO have produced (I still need to try and get a couple of the older ones), but these are all a lot smaller than the M1000 RR

Why not? That's exactly what my wife does, every time I question the appearance of a new coat/dress/top/pair of boots...

    Finally a 4 slice toaster.

When I moved in I bought cheap red stuff. Nothing wrong with it, apart from the fact the toaster is awful. It drops crumbs everywhere, tray or not. I bought a red Smeg kettle last year, it is time to replace the toaster. Sick of having to load it twice for sandwich night too.

With that name on the side, I'd worry about it talking!

Dell WD19TB Thunderbolt3 dock from ebay

It'll handle dual 4K @ 60Hz, so it should be fine for 1440p @ >60Hz. More importantly, it should work for both my current work laptop and the T490 I've just ordered. Meaning I can finally have a single-cable solution for swapping between work & personal systems.

I have the Ducati on the right. Compared to it, how much more complex is the BMW? I think, I have that one boxed around here somewhere...

Much more. Just in terms of parts count, the Ducati is 646 pieces vs the 1920 for the M1000. The Ducati has a pretty simple 2 speed gearbox whereas the BMW has 3 + neutral. The size difference is pretty substantial as well. When I go back upstairs I shall grab the Ducati and take a picture of it in front of the BMW.

    Edit... Here you go:

Both are really enjoyable builds, but the Ducati was a good evening's work versus the 18 hours or so over 3 days for the BMW.
