So Vista has been around for a while now, what is the general consensus behind ReadyBoost ? Does it really help? I guess the real question is, i was reading back articles. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cases/2007/12/29/shuttle_sp35p2_pro_xpc/3 offers a pcie slot on the bottom i guess. so with things like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820609405 can they be made to work with ReadyBoost? or is this all way to restricted still?
So I hear, the more ram you have the less it helps, to the point where you have almost zero gains. Never tried it meself though. IMO, the best use of solid state memory in order to get a genuine performance boost is to use an SSD for you windows partition. This is becoming an increasingly affordable option. Readyboost is not so much a halfway house as a halfway public toilet.
Right, ok. so its as i figured, its an SSD swap partition. Thus 8GB of ram makes it rather pointless.
