Where the underworld is Half-Life 2: Episode 3??? I've heard rumours around the net that it won't be out this year. Has anyone else dug up any other details on it - any changes to the engine, storyline, expected date, etc?

I want it to come to! I only played through the orange box last month, so I'm primed ready for the next installment. Could be a long wait though....
yeh this game is taking forever.... barely any details on it anywhere either. makes me want to reinstall portal now
I suppose we have Portal 2 to look forward to at some point this year, but it's not the same as a proper new HL game

I think we've all been waiting for it for what feels like aeons :-( at least the update to Portal got me to replay through that fine game in readiness for Portal 2
I thinks episodic gameplay is a fail tbh , i remember buying the first installment of the latest 'sin' episodes , not too bad a game but there were no more episodes which really peed me off , with regards to hl3 ep3 it's obviously been put on slowmo to concentrate on left 4 dead which bores the hell out of me tbh ... grrr ep3 better be something special ..
I don't care what EP3 is. I JUST WANT IT NOW. What the HELL is Valve doing touching any other game? They should have had EP3 out a year ago. So much for the 'promise' of episodic content. Gits.
Its been oddly quiet on the Ep 3 front for a very, very long time, if it was anyone other than Valve I might be concerned. Come on Gabe, throw us a bone here, anything, please, pretty please...
Ep3 will be released when it's ready. As far as I understand, Valve do not owe you guys anything. You cannot demand they release it.
Then they shouldn't have bloody said that the episodic model will lead to quicker releases. You can't fault Valve on quality, but jeez, do they know how to delay stuff.
Seems to me like they're trying out a whole bunch of new tech (portals, AI director) to add in to Ep III. It also seems to me they've had so much fun with the results of the new tech they've forgotten about Gordon in favour of the shiny new toys. They've proved they can do quick sequels, literally a year between the L4Ds Maybe they're stuck on the story...
