Which one should I go for?

    The HP-ZR24w, LP2475w or the Dell U2410?

I will not be connecting a Blu-ray player to it so an HDMI connection isn't necessary but might get a blu-ray drive at some point, I do not intend to watch movies on it. I am leaning towards the ZR24.

    Thanks

    Simon :)

Well I don't know what to say. They are both good monitors, and near identical (same panel?). Just one has more features than the other.

Check out my feature comparison table for the full break-down of both:

Maybe this will help you choose.

    ZR24W uses an E-IPS whereas the LP2475 and U2410 use a S-IPS or the great H-IPS panel.

With that said, the ZR24W should do you well enough, unless they're all the same price, then choose between the LP2475 and the U2410.

Actually the LP and the U2410 both use a H-IPS panel and the ZR uses a S-IPS one.

Really? I'm pretty sure the ZR24W uses an E-IPS panel.

    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/hp_zr24w.htm

Scroll down a bit on the first page to the specs. E-IPS. Still not a bad monitor, and cheaper too. I'd go with that, but if you want more quality overall, the other two are still ace.

I want to buy another one for my other computer at my father place, where the extra inputs are needed there, as we have no TV there (old 20 year or so, Sony CRT TV, when Stereo sound and Trinitron series was new). For the ability to connect my Wii, laptop (display port) with desktop, and possibly future consoles with HDMI.

It's been since January last year I check I the U2410 to be bellow 500$ (as the year before I saw it at 450$ on a 24hour special), but nothing... in fact not even 500$ or 550$.. the price was always 700$ :( I did see the U2311H reduce price several times. Now I am open for both, as a new monitor at my father place is getting a great need (using an old CRT monitor, despite being kickass when it was new, it's magnets are finished). The computer got changed since, obviously.

I guess it's selling like hot cakes, so their is no problem for Dell to reduce the price.

The ZR24w is the cheapest out of the three. But really it all boils down to how much you're willing to pay. I'd go with the ZR24w seeing as it's almost as good.

My U2410 is amazing. Great connectivity, colours, everything. The whole thing screams quality.

All three you have up there are great monitors. Of the three, the ZR24W is the only one that can't do Adobe RGB, if that is a concern.
Pick whichever fits your budget, really.
