LOL *NSFW* *The new Demote thread*

Try again.

I recently took our White Knight tumble dryer apart due to a drive belt snap and had exactly the same problem - once it was all back together the fan fouled the back of the machine. I took it apart and noticed that not only had I bent a couple of the fins, but also the main fan shaft. It took a few attempts, but eventually with the help of my trusty Leatherman I managed to straighten it out so that when the inspection panel was screwed back in place it no longer scraped. It's possible.

In the past few months I've had the vacuum, tumble dryer, dishwasher, Freeview recorder and washing machine apart with various terminal symptoms - all work again now and the costs have been minimal. I'm not an engineer but it's been interesting learning how things work.

Now I just need to work out how cars work and I'll be sorted...

 

Essential man skill there I owe a huge majority of my mechanical knowledge to Dad, anything else I've picked up over the years - especially to do with high performance engines, motorsport etc in recent years - is minuscule in comparison to the fundamentals he taught me when I was a kid. All that extra knowledge I've gained in the past couple of years has come from both research and getting hands on. Books, Interwebs and asking questions. I didn't know the first thing about tuned manifold runners, head flow data, velocity stacks and a whole lot of other performance related topics three years ago

Yeah, because chances are she'll look somewhere between both pictures. i.e. a nice-looking lady.

One is a heavily brushed photo at some awards ceremony somewhere, the other is an awful pap shot as she leaves the gym or something.

 

And doubtless she's a right lovely lass to be around, too.
