Will be interested to see how it benches against a 256MB 7800 at the same clock speed in games such as BF2...

I *don't* think I will have time for that in tomorrow's article, but I'll see what I can do... ;)

I'm not even going to be able to bring a full review - hard drive in my test system just 'died' half way through for no apparent reason. To say I'm livid is an understatement - I'll bring you as much as I can :(

Nooooo.....damn that sucks. Hope you can find a replacement soon for a full review. Sure it'll still be top notch anyway.

Well if their is faster memory and core clockspeeds on the 512mb GTX then there should be an increase in performance over the 256mb. But i cant say the extra memory making much of a difference in it. But i do think it will be faster than the 256mb GTX in the likes of FEAR and Call of Duty 2.

No.. I'm hoping I'm wrong!!! I'm all for things getting faster... it bothers me not a bit that I've only just bought the 256 version... I just can't see it. The 256 versions of the 9800pro didn't exactly pwn the 128 versions for instance.

Guess will wait and see when Tim is released from the clutches of the dreaded NDA.

Exactly - it's the massive clockspeed hike that's gonna make the difference, not the extra memory. Though I could see that memory making Doom 3 and other games with "Ultra" settings quite nice-looking...;)

From what I've seen from a feew snippets of pre-NDA data, the clockspeeds do make a difference, but not as much as you might think. The arcitecture doesnt seem to scale quite as well as the x81xx cards do, if you gave the X1800XT a similar core and memory speed bump for example you'd gain a lot more.
Thats probably just twaddle, but either way the cards stupidly fast :D

From what i just read on the inq its 2pm GMT when the NDA is officially over... give sites a few minutes to make their reviews 'live' etc, so i'd guess we will see reviews between 2-3!!

I'm looking forward to the results but tbh I know this product is gonna be way over priced and there is no way i'm ever gonna get one :p
