Watercooling Overheating watercooling loop

    Well how about this.... I was once asked to fix a crashing dell laptop... Took the CPU heatsink off and the paper film hadn't been peeled off the hot-side of the heatsink!

    The protective paper covering the thermal pad.

    lol we have all done something akin to this once
    ive seen a couple of CPUS with the stickers still on
    you live and learn, at least no damage was done

    I guess I wasn't the first ;)
    I'm lucky the temp protection was on, I would have hated myself for blowing up a brand new CPU.

    I'll always double check for stickers from now on! :thumb:

    Well obviously the sticker wont have helped your cpu temp at all but your coolant temp was still 50 degrees which in my mind is still quite hot.

    My temp probe is attached to the first of the 3 reservoirs, so its at the end of the loop.
    I think the coolant stays there for a while untill it reaches the last reservoir and is sucked to the pump and into the radiators...

    That might explain why the coolant is so hot.
