it took a while...but here comes the next update :thumb:

like mentioned on sunday we continued with the next outer parts of the case...so that we hopefully can assemble the Outside at the end of the week....

The first side is nearly done at the moment(just 2 of the silver/grey parts are missing)...and we already cutted the first parts from the 2nd side...:thumb:

    time for an small update:

the last 2 days we spent nearly the our whole time in polishing all the inner edges of the white parts....that had to be done before we could glue them together with their grey counterparts, because later it would be really complicated to do it....

beside the polishing we also cutted out the last 2 parts for the casebottom which we need to mount the upper part. We attached the mainboard tray to the Plexiglas rings which should mount it on the Tube....

    Time for an update :thumb:

we spent the whole last days with sanding and polishing all edges (this time the outside of all parts)....today we drilled the first holes which we need to assemble the first pieces....they are just thrown together ...so that you get an impression how it´s meant to be....

    puzzle time

in the last days we made the next steps in the building process....we marked the spots where we had to drill the big holes in which we place the big plexi rods (20mm)as axis for the movement....after drilling the holes...we made a quick test to see where we are...and if we will get into problems with our plannings...(but it doesn´t seem so:thumb:)

cool.:D I wanted to do a hinged setup like that for an easy access SFF water rig. Since I'll never get around to it, I can enjoy yours.

    thx m8´s!!!

oh in the end it´s a real simple mechanism but it´s not so easy do describe :D
but i think with each update it come more and more clear...:thumb:

today we made the next steps....this time we spent our time into the big Plexi Tube....because a few holes had to be drilled....and expanded with the dremel so that we can stick our axis through the tube....beside that we also made the needed cuts for the motor mount and we also cutted the first handle which will be attached to the motor and connected with a few "cords" to the Front/Back....

yeah i hope that it will work automatically
we try to integrate an Arduino (first time we do that) so that it can operate the motor and also the LED´s which will be integrated....the part for the motor already works....only the led part has to be done atm....(and a bit of work on the code for everything)

Beside the work on the Electronics...we made the next parts which are needed to open/close the case...they will be placed on the upper rods....
We also made the Motor mounting plate which should be mounted inside the tube. Then we made a few new cuts to the tube....so that we have enough possibilities to access all parts for maintenance once it´s assembled....

Oh and we´re also searching for a good name for this project, so every suggestion is welcome!! :thumb:

Hmm, by the looks of it you seem to be automizing the opening mechanism. Am I correct?

Superb job so far guys! Really looks nothing like the original case. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of this turns out!
