Post moderation complaint

I already said I understand the reason and actually think its a good idea.

I was simply stating that the forum rules say: "New users will have their posts entered into a moderation queue if they contain external links or match common spam words.

Theres no mention of the first 10 all being subject to the moderation queue whether they contain external links/spam or not. I'm sure you can see my confusion.

I have seen some spammers write something along the lines of "that is an interesting point, thank you for your advice" on their first post to get past the mods.

 

Fortuitously most of the mods on here are wise to that sort of rubbish. I have seen at least one bizarre first post in this very sub-forum disappear so far today!

 

Its certainly one of the best systems I've come across and clearly is better than relying solely on a report button. The only problem I can see with it (apart from my confusion with the rules) is in a fast moving thread your post will be missed by the time its cleared. But a small price to pay for a clearer forum experience.

Oh and Yay 10 posts! I'm clear, spam time... that was a joke btw.

I know it's a bit of a bump, but would it be possible to make it impossible to have an 11th post 'til one of their first 10 posts are approved?

To avoid having the first 10 waiting, and the rest launch a consecutive post attack?

 

I don't think unapproved posts count towards the post count. But even if they do, can you imagine the complaints if every new member was limited to 10 posts until their first 10 were approved?

 

Not ALL 10 posts, just any of the 10. Be it the 1st, 2nd, 9th, 10th, or any in between.

I just know there's some spammers that get around the moderation any way possible. Very determined, very desperate people.

Do they moderate the Partner Forums? I've seen some pretty good spam in them
