sorry it's taken me a while to gt back to you all, it's been my birthday and such, enough said :)

the parts all arrived and i found a problem, some of the PCB mounting components don't fit on the tripad board I already had, so i need to get some more etching stuff, which is what i intended to use for the final units anyway, but i was hoping to be able to do the prototypes on tripad. so unfortunatly a small delay :duh:

I'll estimate that I'll have photos in one week (26th may)

as for europe, I'll look into it, but as with america, it may not be worth the extra cost

I'd be interested, could you invert them to a blue colour for a price or is that impossible with these displays.

    Good/bad news everyone!

The original supplier I intended to use for the bare LCD's has fallen through, but I've found others and I'm still looking around.
I hope these slightly higher prices don't dissapoint. (original prices are to be compared with black text/green background, NO backlight, so not a huge increase)

the prices are: (although I'm not yet taking orders)

    2 x 16 black text/green background = £20
    2 x 16 black text/green background with backlight = £25
    2 x 16 white text/blue background with backlight = £30
    2 x 16 white text/black background with backlight = £30

    2 x 20 black text/green background = £28
    2 x 20 black text/green background with backlight = £30
    2 x 20 white text/blue background with backlight = £40
    2 x 20 white text/black background with backlight = £40

    4 x 20 black text/green background = £35
    4 x 20 black text/green background with backlight = £39
    4 x 20 white text/blue background with backlight = £45
    4 x 20 white text/black background with backlight = £45

    The cheapest UK supplier I found was £50 for a 2 x 16 black/green, and £75 for all colours of 2 x 20 (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/)
These prices are not final, and I still intend to have 2 prototypes by wednesday, watch this space.

SFOD-D LoneWolf: by larger do you mean more characters or bigger characters? more characters is not possible but bigger characters I could do, let me know :)

thanks for all the interest so far :thumb:

if by feaby you meant ebay, well I couldn't find him, and are you sure his are wired up and ready to run.
anyway, i dont appriciate you posting that, Implying that I'm trying to rip people off and not even posting a link to back up what you say.
I'm offering somthing that to my knowledge is not available in the UK (or anywhere), that is cheap parallel LCDs which are ready to run, and are well made on PCBs (as in my expirience wire only connections have a habit of braking) plus the units I will be selling are all brand new, which is unlikly of the ebay seller, if anyone can find him.
sorry for the rant, but i've been putting alot of time, effort and money into this so you can see why I'm a little annoyed. :grr:

jodathmorr: black on red should be possible, I will try for you and let you know, I'd estiamte the cost at £40 for a 4x20.

prototype nearly done, although the main problem will be borrowing a digital camera from somewhere. pics soon
