So it'll be bulletproof huh? Care to shoot a little video when it's done to prove that? :D

So a layer of Kevlar just to get a coloured weave? Sounds awesome to me. I have a tendency to look at pretty pics rather then read when I am in a rush so if you have already discussed this before then don't mind me :D.

This is becoming more interesting. The orange colour will look good. How heavy is the build so far?

Lol, I tell you what. I'm not willing to shoot the case, but I'll see what I have left over for fiber when I'm done. Maybe I can throw a few layers together and shoot that instead. :D

The side panels and ribs will be 6 layers of the Kevlar/carbon fiber composite. They'll be even stronger than the case itself. :thumb:

Thanks shah. The resin muted a lot of the Kevlar's bright orange color, but the more subdued result still looks good. The weight is minimal. Almost non-existent...

I'm guessing half of that right now. :D

lol. That's less weight than some of the high end air cooling monsters (ie Megahalems, ~800g).

you do realize that there are 15.432 grains in a gram right?
i highly doubt that its any where close to a US lb

Using the least scientific method known to man, the case weighs about as much as your average banana... it's the only thing I could find that was close enough to compare. Get out your kitchen scales guys! :D

    200 grams ish currently then?

Get some scales craigbru dammit! You have a carbon kevlar production facility and nothing to weigh your awesomeness! It's preposterous

Lol, I never thought I'd need one.

Cut the banana into smaller pieces and weigh those? Although I've never seen one, maybe the wife has a scale hidden somewhere...

Yeah, CF is so yesterday. Cases made from fruit are the future. Resin and fruit rollups? Go green!

Bananas would be a terrible idea. They'd turn to black dust before his planning was done.

-also You should say, "bullet resistant," or someone will try to test it.

Great. I come in for an update, and I get a "bunch" of banana talk. If you're not careful, it could end up like one of Cheapskate's worklogs lol. :p

On topic: Looking better and better, and I can't wait to see how the side panels look with the cut-outs. :)

    Thank you very much!

Thanks man! I never seem to get as much done as I hope, but I try to keep it steady.

True. Bananas might not be ideal. However, I could mod a fruitcake. That might be more bulletproof than the Kevlar...

Oh man, that's the last thing I need. However, sometimes epic sidetracks make for the best threads. Lol.

Thanks Brian. I've got the last layer of Kevlar on the first side panel, and I have to get another coat of resin on it. I should then be able to cut it to size. Waiting for resin to dry makes for slow progress...

I think I speak for everyone when I say that if we were reading this log in a room full of gay men, they would all swarm us because of how wide our mouth's opened when our jaws dropped. :jawdrop:

I agree with you on sanding the CF down and adding another layer of it to make those 45 degree angles more defined instead of rounded.

I can't visualize how this will turn out but your dedication and perfectionism is a force to be reckoned with. *cracks beer open* I sit here and await for the next update. :thumb:
