This build looks more like a prototype for a final retail version than "just" a personal moded desktop, the manufacturing is that good...

Subbed out of pure jealousy of the tooling you have to hand.

    Keep it up fella!

no kidding. Any modder could lust after having that kind of a setup at your disposal. Makes any homemade attempts at metalworking look feeble at best. Very nice welding nonetheless.

Also subbed but purely out of jealousy! I love my workshop, but yours makes it look like a garden shed :( so I have to watch. That added to the fact that this just looks awesome! I love the idea and the speed at which you work is just phenomenal!

    Subb'd

    Update 5. 19 Feb 2012

This weekend i made some progress again. This week i received the security part for the desk.
Its a hose full of little switches and if 1 switch is pressed then the columns stop moving and go up for about 50mm.

    The package.

Linak also gave me a special connector to connect the jackplug.I already test it and i will make a short movie soon.

    Thank hpr and specially marc.

Also linak called when they seen the update with the lifting column for the screens and told me that i can mount the column up side down because im using it for lcd panels. So i made a bracket for it and mount it on the frame.

Cheapskate asked me why use stock gear and not making a custom stainless steel reservoir so i came up with a new reservoir design.

First i made a few covers on the lathe. Then i drilled and tapped them with g1/4.

Then i saw 4 pieces of 60mm stainless steel pipe.

Then i spotwelded the covers on the pipes and finisht welding them.

    Some sanding.

Then i spotwelded the pipes together and finsht welding them.

Then i welded the feet and did some polishing and this is how they look.Custom 90 degree stainless steel reservoirs. :D

The best part of all your builds is the little unique design elements that you come up with.
