this is why i don't like etched sidepanels: the panel looks awesome, the system is top class, but they ruin eachother. :(

    top grade work though Scirocco!

Very nice, I love the window. 8GB of Balistixs, nice mate. I tried to get sponsors for my mod but was declined each time. Next time I am going directly to the manufacturer rather than a store front.

Bujeeze, Scirocco! You have me thinking about upgrading again. :duh: 8 gigs? Did they think you are you building Skynet or something?
It came out great! I assume the dremel died because of that side panel etch?

@E.E.L. Ambiense, Xtrafresh, The boy 4rm oz and Cheapskate: Thank you for the props! It means a lot coming from you all.
@Cheapskate: The Dremel gave up the ghost when I was cutting the top panel for the 2x120mm radiator. Really makes me wish I had the space and money for a nice scroll saw. I really thought it was a mistake when I saw it was 8gb total. When I first pulled them out of the box, thought it was 4x1gb sticks of ram. The Crucial guy said he wanted to make sure they showed up nicely in my mod. ;)
    @Dommi: Behave, wench!

Well met! Sponsor and MOTM nomination. Both deserved. Voting this month is going to be really hard.

Wow, I'm in utter shock and amazement! To be nominated with the likes of the others this month, especially for my first mod, is quite an honor. Thank you to Bit-tech and to you all.

Sorry for my lack of progress and posts the last few days. Been in quite a bit of pain after that last minute push and the emergency trip to the hardware store, etc. There is much more that will be done as I'm not pleased with the effect on some areas, plus of course the watercooling and such. Not to mention I fired it up for the first time since last week and one of the ACRyan blackfire fans refuses to light up... ugh. Getting things taken care of with the doctor and I'll be back at it some more!

Cheers to the rest of this month's nominees and best of luck.

pretty sure thats a Hyperkore laser etch ..they do look awesome especially in a themed build when you supply custom artwork. btw thanx Scirocco, since my wife saw your mod i am stuck gettin her a laser etch panel now =o/ lol.
great clean work on the mod tho, be nice to see what more you add to it.

Way of the Warrior - One tree falls for another

I must confess, the window is actually a photo laser etch process, not a dremel/engraver etch. ;) Here is the original graphic used before a whole bunch of tweaking. [Saw CobraMods' post after I updated. It is indeed a Hyperkore window. And CobraMods, your wife has excellent taste, they're great windows!]

Just placed an order for some black, red and white 1/8" acrylic sheet, some hardware from MNPCTech, plus a new Blackfire4 120mm red fan to replace the one that doesn't want to light up (but runs) and a couple other doodads. The serious work for Way of the Warrior Phase II will start as soon as the goodies arrive. Much of the work present on the case is somewhat temporary for the purposes of the contest deadline it had. Now that it has passed, the serious other work begins and will take longer than three weeks to do. It will help now that I've got a replacement Dremel, plus a couple other hand tools to do the job. Must admit that after Bit-tech's review of the Matrix Orbital GX Typhoon, I'm sorely tempted to get one for this mod to use instead of the single digital temp gauge.

By the way, I did get an Honorable Mention in the Comic Challenge mod competition. A $100 Newegg gift certificate will be coming my way. The mod is part of round one in the monthly battles at the Mod Shop, along with quite a few of the other great mods we've seen here. We'll see how that goes. Anything else I think is gravy. ;)

On the list to be done:

Grill solution for 2 x 80mm fans on rear of case
    Installation of watercooling
Acrylic finishing frame for etched window
    Stealthing of dvd drive
Cable management, including false floors for both sides of case
Switch white and red led indicators so power is red and hdd activity is white instead of vice versa
Momentary switch mods as originally planned
    Case handles with theme treatment
Matching theme keyboard and mouse mods
Other items not thought of here

Look for an official update in probably a week when the goodies arrive.
