Case Mod - In Progress Project: Xbox PC, Easter 2013 (one final problem)

Been overclocking it a bit and so far, without touching the voltages it is stable at 4.6ghz with ram at 2133mhz @ 11 11 11 28. Been testing using the blend test on prime 95 and everything is stable at the moment. I had a few hickups when i tried to overclock the igpu beyond 950mhz but will be testing further this weekend!

I have a dead xbox sitting here. Might take it apart later!

 

I will be uploading all the pics of the finished products once I sort out the issues I mentioned earlier, I have started on the USB front panel but it is nearly impossible to close the xbox at the moment and still need to re-solder/ fix the power button. Hopefully I will complete it this Easter weekend!

I recommend it, if you were prepared to increase the budget it is possible to fit a custom loop in their and even a graphics card if you are prepared to have the io panel coming out the bottom (or side) of the xbox.

Well, I am nearly nearly finished but I suppose this is a cry for help.

When I use the xbox power button and tact switch pcb as my power button the pc powers up and everything seems fine then 5 seconds later it dies on me, when I do not use the tact switch pcb etc. and instead just use a rocker switch it boots up with no problems. Any suggestions on what the problem is and how to fix?

Also, I have fixed the hard drive cage so it now locks in place unassisted and fitted the front usb ports. Pictures to follow as soon as I can fix the power button.

 

Apart from the power button not working it is finished!

Thanks, the hardest part was cable management to be honest, the first few times I booted it up there was the sound of a wire colliding with the fans but I have just about got a clear airflow going through the case. It is running at 4.8ghz at 60 degrees so I can't complain .

 

The switch problem should be sorted out by replacing it with a similar momentary switch button.

 

Do you know of any that are the same size as the xbox button, or can be mounted in the space provided by removing the xbox power switch pcb? I only have a few mm to work with otherwise the case won't latch together let alone the front panel fitting.
