Hey guys, I'm planning a Raspberry Pi Case for the new motherboard we're all waiting for http://www.mediafire.com/?3bi7mdaxp0rp85d This is the planned case so far... But it just doesn't interest me at the moment, I've kept it minimal at the moment as I was to get a decent airflow, or even some watercooling going on in it so I can try and overclock it I've uploaded so you guys can play around with it, and give your opinions, but yes it is supposed to look that bad at the moment, as I've only had like 15 mins to work on it.. Edit: Please don't laugh at it aswell...Its going to be my first mod...
Ooh, An Rpi case! If you need good feedback, I'd suggest you give some more details on what you've planned? Anyway, I'll try to answer some of your questions to the best of my knowledge. It's (as you may or may not know) basically just a smartphone on 'roids. Therefore cooling isn't nessecary and I reckon a VGA RAM heatsink would be suffiecient cooling if you plan on OC'ing it (that's at least my plan so far). If you however insist on watercooling it, you might wanna take a look at a UK based company that makes micro-waterpumps and rads (forgot their name, I'm afraid). P.S. Is that Rpi SU model of yours precise on dimensions? Good luck, and please post more figures as you progress! Kind regards, Mork
Thanks! I had a thought the other day which I discussed on Mumble with fellow Bit-techers...By using Lego Blocks, I really want to go ahead with the idea, its just I want to make it stand out.. I would love to watercool it though, so I can get it OC'd Anyone know the name of the company?
I do not know if you saw it, but Confusis made a SU model of the RPI (click on the image do download it)
Thank you! I love you Guille, rep Also, could someone explain how the SD Card actually goes in?...It looks confusing..
You might get more comments if you export the su image to jpg or something else that everyone can view. Although a lot of people use (and are proficient with) sketch-up, the same doesn't apply to everyone who might be interested.
Thanks Debs! Apologies everyone, I'll upload it as a .jpg so you all can view! I shall have a finished design tomorrow! And Kid, do a mod of it still! I would love to see how many ideas people have around the motherboard..
this could be embedded inside a multicopter thanks to the 5v power supply, arduino for the sensors + rotors and rpi for data computing
Just read the article and thought I should keep this updated. I have almost finished the last design ^.^ But I'm having troubles, as the USB ports are hanging out only slightly, about 1mm, is there any way of hiding this?
RIGHT! Case is done, this is very basic so far, but I think I can mod it more when I have the actual motherboard in my hands. Here are the pictures! http://forums.bit-tech.net/album.php?albumid=1739 Please, any critisim is welcome! I would love some ideas though from our local pr0 modders though please Edit: Also, does anyone know where I could purchase Acrylic from? I would prefer buying it from a shop..
I can't at work...a lot of photo share sites are blocked.. Can you embed them using the built in Bit-Tech album? EDIT: Found out how!
This is how the top cover is going to be secured, just a tab within the case ^.^ An image of the top of the case, don't know what to put on top of it yet, open to ideas though The Ethernet port and USB Ports, not to sure on them yet on how they are...As you can see, they will be three acrylic layers, as this makes it easier to secure the motherboard.. Side view of the case. Another side view... And an inside view of the beauty ( I think it is...:3) Like I said, I'm open to both critisim and ideas, this is my first design for a project, so please go easy on me..
25 odd pounds for the slower version, with ethernet, not sure on the RAM but has the same processor as the 30 pounds one, which has more RAM and a ethernet port ^.^
